Book of Acts

Begins July 27!

The Book of Acts was most likely written by Luke. He was also the author of the Gospel of Luke, in which he writes carefully about Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, and ascension.

But Luke wrote yet another book, a sequel. We know this as the Acts of the Apostles. In it, we discover how Jesus work continues through the Holy Spirit. Acts begins with a moving encounter between the risen Jesus and His disciples. For forty days, He speaks with them about the Kingdom of God and the new world that began through His death and resurrection. The disciples are eager to go out. But Jesus asks them to wait first. They need strength the power of the Holy Spirit to truly be His witnesses. The commission is clear: begin in Jerusalem, continue to Judea and Samaria, and ultimately to the whole world.
