Sermon Notes

Not By Works

Both pastors preached. Dr. June gave her sermon and the presentation is attached.  When we are squeezed by the enemy, we will show our works. It will be faith or fear. When we get baptized, our old man dies. The new man walks in the path God designed for them before time began.

Walking in this new path will require faith. Faith is the only thing that pleases God. As long as we keep our faith in God when we are in trouble, He will defend us.

Good works vs. Bad works

Bad works are led by fear. It is working with your own hands trying to figure it out instead of trusting God. We see this with many kings in the Old Testament. When they would go to battle and trust God, He will back them up!

Be ye angry and sin not!  Do not give place to the Devil! See when you trust in the Lord you lay the situation down at the foot of His cross and leave the results up to Him. In your new life with Christ, working is required. Good works!

Another good work is...

  • Taking care of elderly

  • Orphans and widows

  • Loving your neighbor

  • Visiting Prisoners

  • Loving the homeless
