Are you Vigilant?

Dr. June encouraged the church about being vigilant and gave the example of a man who rode in her car who was a Christian and his world is falling apart. The wife left him and took the kids.  Since then the church he attends has been helping him to get on his feet. One day he meets this woman who is a single parent and her husband is not in the picture. He has justified his actions and now helps to take care of her family. He asked my opinion of his situation and I backed up his church (he said they were upset with him over that woman). I told him that he is a stumbling block to her in finding that Jesus is her husband now. Last thing those children need is another man in the picture. He is not being vigilant. The enemy is creeping in.

Stay vigilant, pay attention!

1 Peter 5:8

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
King James Version

Pastor's Sermon

Pastor encouraged the church to have discernment, be alert, have understanding, good judgment and pay attention.  Pay attention to your surroundings - see clearly what's going on all around us at all times. Focus, focus, focus.

Staying vigilant means keeping a keen, unremitting focus on your surroundings and well-being to quickly spot danger or opportunity. Whether you want to secure your personal safety or guard your mental peace, active awareness and sharp judgment are your greatest tools.

Meek is POWER UNDER CONTROL!
