Watch Ye Therefore & Pray

Dr. June started us off talking about the progress of our 40-Day Fast and encouraged everyone that Jesus is our solid rock. We can stand on that rock with all the chaos and instability due to wars, plagues, etc. Then we sang two songs:

  1. Christ the Solid Rock I stand

  2. Oceans

PASTOR'S SERMON:

Pastor talked about this old book he found in this house from the 1940s. It really inspired him. He shares a dream he had as well.

Jesus warns us that when we hear of wars and rumors of wars to be ye not troubled. It's very important to trust in Jesus. Be still and know that the Lord is our God. He is our refuge in time of trouble!

Matthew 24:  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

If you do not watch, you will not know the hour He will come upon us. We must perservere and be not troubled.  We are seeing the apostasy and warnings before our eyes, but we still must trust the Lord.

Revelation 3:3 - Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

If you're not beholding, taking heed, then you are being willingly ignorant. REPENT. The time is coming to an end.  The Lord is coming as a thief in the night. Are we ready?

1 Thessalonians 5:1 - But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

:14 - Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

We do not want to be in error and led by the wicked. We want God to lead and direct us into all the truth. We want to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Luke 21 says pray ye always. We pray that we are worthy to stand before the Son of Man!
