Beware YE! The Tares, Thorns & Thistles

Songs by Dr. June - Blessed Assurance & The Old Rugged Cross

There is a long list of tares. Beware - this is a warning. We see this all around us. In this end-time scenario with the Beast trying to suck everyone in, you need to have discernment about who to trust in this hour. Just because they preach some good does not mean it's all good. Where are they sending people in this end-time scenario? To the Beast or away from him.

Matthew 13

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

The parable reminds us how they're all intertwined. Being that they're all together, we must have discernment.  Good and evil exists side by side in the world.  Tares can represent hypocrits who mingle with the church but produce no fruit - no good grain. They are a useless invasive weed that can even wrap around other plants.  Then Jesus gets into the Parable of the Sower....

18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

The thorns and thistles are symbolic of false prophets. Thorns in the Bible Dictionary says, "...a grieving thorn, Ez 28:24, should be rendering a sting - a sign of heathenism. Micah 7:4 refers to a corruption of a nation. It corrupts everyone with them.  Job 5:5 - even a thorny hedge does not forbid them from taking food from an orphan.Full of insurmountable obstacles. Figure of desolution. Cracking of thorns under a pot. Ecc 7:6. 2 Sam 23:6 - the wicked are compared to thorns. Nehemiah talks about dung and thorns in same thoughts of fools - Ps 118:12 - symbolic of false prophets -Matt 7:16. Matt 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, inwardly they are raving wolves. Beware of tares, sheeps clothing. A corrupt tree brings forth bad fruit.

THORN IN THE FLESH - spiritual and physical...

Is it to keep him from pride?

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)

How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.

For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Beware of what you watch and listen to. You are receiving that bad seed - the tares.  The false prophets and the teachers are there to darken people.
