On the 7th day, God breathed life into the nostrils into the human - man became a living soul - Gen 2:7.
Soul is your mind, will and emotions!
We must worship Him in spirit and in truth. We have a willl, we have to make that effort to worship Him!
We are made in God's image - Spirit, Soul & Body....
When we die...
Spirit goes back to God who gave it
Body goes back to Earth because it is dirt
Soul is what is judged - this is your mind, will and emotions.
Thus, the battle is where will your soul choose in this hour? You make the choice. There is a battle between the spirit (who's always trying to pull you towards God and doing right), and the flesh - the body - which always is pulled with the ways of the world - the kingdom of this world.
The Kingdom of this World versus Kingdom of Heaven.
We must be very careful to abstain from fleshly lusts that war against the soul. Rom. 1
If people will not hear God and they harden their hearts, God will turn them over to a reprobate mind - to their own lusts. They will become prideful and not receive correction, etc. They have a hard heart, they do not have eyes to see or ears to hear anymore.
What is man's most vital asset? Most imporant value? THE SOUL!
What good is it if a man gains the whole world but loses his soul? What good is it?
