Heather's Story - "A Journey of Faith and Provision"
This is my favorite Angel/Jesus moment of many. Years ago, I lived by myself with my two dogs. I supported myself by working at a beach shop—doing airbrushing, working as a cashier, and waitressing at this cute little place on the beach. Then, in the winter when the beach shop was closed, I would do craft and art shows. I always made enough to get through the winter until spring came around at the beach again.
Well, this particular winter, I had extra expenses. I had truck problems, and the travel trailer I lived in started leaking, so I had to pay for repairs. Anyhow, I didn’t quite have enough money to make it until spring. My rent was paid, but I had absolutely no money left for food or gas. This winter was also very cold; my propane lines froze one night, and my dogs and I almost froze.
Throughout it all, I just kept praying and believing that God would help me find a job or some way to get some food. I prayed, and I cried, and I prayed. Well, this voice kept telling me to go to the beach for a walk and that I would feel better. This voice just kept pushing me to go to the beach: "Come on, get up and walk to the beach." Push, push, push. All I could think was, I am not in any mood to go for a walk! Finally, I was like, "Okay, fine! I will be back, pups, I'm going for a walk!" Dogs weren't allowed on the beach, so they stayed home.
So, I headed to the beach. My camper was just across the road a ways from the shore. Well, when I got up to the roadway and crossed over, heading to the pathway down to the beach, I saw something laying on the side of the road in the grass! I walked over to see what it was, and... it was a hundred-dollar bill just laying on the ground next to the shoulder of the road!
I couldn't believe my eyes. I picked it up to see if it was real, and I just cried. I dropped to my knees, weeping and thanking Jesus. A hundred dollars back then was like five hundred dollars or more today! I could not believe it. That voice that kept pushing me knew it was there! Thank you, thank you, Jesus!
After many tears, I loaded up, got some gas in my truck, and went and got us some food. Angel voices? I will never forget this!
This is my absolute favorite testimony of God's provision. Years ago, I lived alone in a travel trailer with my two dogs. I supported myself working at a charming little beachside shop doing airbrushing, cashiering, and waitressing. During the winter closures, I traveled to craft and art shows, which usually brought in just enough to carry us through to spring.
Part 2: The Hard Off-Season
During the winter closures, I traveled to craft and art shows, which usually brought in just enough to carry us through to spring. That particular winter, however, unexpected emergency expenses hit all at once. My truck broke down, and my trailer developed severe leaks that required costly repairs. I quickly ran out of funds. While my rent was covered, I had absolutely nothing left for gas or food.
Part 3: The Broken Truck
To make matters worse, it was a brutally cold season. I stood outside looking at my broken truck and leaking trailer, realizing I didn’t quite have enough money to make it until spring. One night, our propane lines completely froze, leaving my dogs and me shivering through the dark. In absolute desperation, I prayed, cried, and kept believing that God would open a door.
Part 4: The Relentless Command
As I prayed, a persistent voice began speaking to my heart, telling me to go to the beach for a walk to clear my mind. I completely resisted it, thinking, I am in no mood for a walk. But the impression kept pushing—urgent and relentless. Finally, I yielded. I told my pups to stay put since dogs weren't allowed on the sand, crossed the road from my camper, and headed toward the beach path.
Part 5: Answered Prayer on the Roadside
Right there, lying on the shoulder of the road in the tall grass, was a crisp $100 bill. At the time, that was equivalent to $500 or more today. I dropped to my knees right on the roadside, sobbing tears of pure gratitude and praising Jesus. That voice knew exactly what was waiting for me.
Part 6: Abundant Provision
I filled up my truck, bought food for my dogs and myself, and walked away with a lifelong reminder that God hears our cries. Was it an angel's voice? I have no doubt. I will never, ever forget how Jesus directed my steps that day!
